Beyond the food and the guest appearances that mingle in the culinary cutthroat competition, I love the behind the scenes moments of ‘Top Chef.’ Some of the best drama fueled scandals happened in the Stew Room as the judges discussed dishes outside.
I don’t know what it is about that room, but it turns into a box of emotional torture. The producers/execs of the show have summarized the room as “The Chef’s Most Hated Place on Earth.” They sit, literally stewing, for 4 or 5 hours in uncomfortable chairs awaiting the, sometimes dreaded, results.
The Funny:
Boredom ensues quickly after being stationary for hours on end. Here is what some of the chefs do to pass the time: blackjack, life size craps, hockey, baseball and many other destructive games.
The Booze Fueled:
Of course it is going to end with a whole lotta mumbling and giggles when you pent up a person in a room with copious amounts of booze!
The Tense:
A team challenge usually ends with a bus and someone being thrown under it. When it comes to being angry and stuck in a room, there is ALWAYS drama and when you add Marcel..well, see for yourself.
The Inventive:
